About Us

A community-based organization that will use their mission and vision to create presentations, invited speakers and other professionals to address the topics such as mental health, career building, evidence-based curriculum/programs, healthy choices and life skills.

Enriching our community

As of 2021, CERM has been a certified 501c3 that has acquired donations from many and a capacity building grant that will provide resources to complete land survey, grant proposals, free classes for target population, office equipment, financial programs, training for new and present board and committee members. The two signature events, “A Walk In The Past - Vintage Fashion Show" and “The Sun Will Come Out” was a success. These events will continue to showcase residents in the community while building community capacity.

History

The Mansell siblings (Kay, Diane, Cathy, Wendell, Roger and Donna) were taught that communities are created by binding together and by taking care of each other. Prior to their father Columbus Mansell’s passing in 1994, he called the family together and expressed certain wishes. After the passing of their mother, Edith R. Mansell in 2019, the children again met, where the visionary’s plan to honor their parents’ giving spirit was presented. In February 2021, The Columbus and Edith Rogers Mansell Foundation, a namesake organization (C.E.R.M. Foundation) was founded. A foundation that will honor and empower the underserved of the Pickens County community.
